Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the ‘Fit India Run’ on Sunday at the Athletics Ground, Maharana Pratap Sports College, Dehradun, as part of the nationwide Fit India Movement aimed at promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.
Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami emphasized the significance of fitness for a strong and healthy India, stating, “Fit India is not just about a strong body, but also the foundation of a healthy mind and a lively soul. This is a national mission that drives our dream of a strong India.”
Highlighting the importance of fitness in state development, Dhami added, “A fit Uttarakhand is key to a prosperous Uttarakhand, where every citizen contributes to the progress of the country.”
As part of the celebrations marking three years of his government, CM Dhami also participated in a cycle rally that began from the CM’s Camp Office Complex Gate and even engaged in push-ups alongside other participants, demonstrating his commitment to fitness.
He reiterated his government’s dedication to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a healthy India, urging citizens to adopt a balanced diet and actively participate in fitness initiatives.
Meanwhile, Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya joined the ‘Fit India Sundays on Cycle’ initiative organized by the Sports Authority of India, emphasizing that the movement is gaining momentum nationwide. UP Minister Girish Chandra Yadav was also present at the event.
With increasing participation in Fit India initiatives, the campaign is evolving into a national movement, inspiring citizens across the country to prioritize health and fitness.
